Today I Learned . . . To Pace Yourself

Nobody wins a marathon by sprinting the whole the distance.

We’ve all been told that slow and steady wins the race.  That was one of my favorite stories growing up.  The Tortoise and the Hare.  I even tell it to my own children.

It’s one thing to talk about it.  It’s another to actually apply it to our own life.  I am amazed by the speed at which life can throw things at you. Good and bad, fun and not so fun.

What I learned is to just take things in stride and address them as they come along.  I’ve learned to prioritize things.

Once the order of priority is set, I can then focus and give each one the attention it deserves.

That applies to things and people as well.

Remember, no matter how many times you read the story, the tortoise always wins the race.
