It’s that time of the year again! The tax man is sharpening his pencil.
Now is the time to start gathering up all your receipts and making sure that you have everything you need. You should be getting all the tax forms from your employers by the end of the month.
And if you are self-employed, don’t forget to do that for anyone who works for you or with you as well.
It’s never too soon to start preparing for filing your taxes. Whether you are going to do it yourself or hire someone to help you, it’s best to get organized early.
Especially this year.
There are rumblings all over the place about the IRS being underfunded and short staffed this year.
That translated to one thing:
They are going to delay some activities on their end AKA your refund will be slow!
Also, the forms are going to be a little more complicated because of the Affordable Care Act.. All the more reason to get organized early, and to file early as well.
There really is no benefit to delaying or putting it off, especially if you anticipate a refund.
So, off you go! Break out the shoebox of receipts you have sitting around and get started today.
