“Never trouble another for what you can do yourself.”
This advice from Thomas Jefferson best translates to: Don’t be lazy!
There is no shame in asking for help. Sometimes we just cannot do something for ourselves, no matter how hard we may try. We all reach our limitation at times. And that is OK.
The key here is to at least try. We need to do that so we can learn what our limitations are, and so we can stretch ourselves beyond our own perceived limitations. If we do, we may be pleasantly surprised at what we can accomplish.
The problem arises when the first thing we do is to ask others to do things for us before giving it a go on our own.
Thomas Jefferson was onto something here as well!
